Lead Me, Guide Me

We are all little children, learning how to live and living in our mistakes, forgiving and forgetting, sometimes we stand alone and so we need a Father to help us on our way. Lead us, guide us

Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Or just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me, oh Lord won't you lead me
I am lost if you take your hand from me
I am blind without try light to see
Lord just always let me Thy servant be
Lead me oh Lord, won't you lead me
Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Lord just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh Lord, won't you lead me

Evening Sunset

Day is dying in the west;
Heav'n is touching earth with rest;
Wait and worship while the night
Sets her ev'ning lamps alight
Through all the sky.

Holy, Holy, Holy,
Lord God of hosts!

Heav'n and earth are full of thee!
Heav'n and earth are praising thee,
O Lord Most High.

The Lord's Prayer

My Father who is in heaven
Hallowed is your name
Your will be on earth as it is in heaven.
This day as in all my days
May I your holy bread daily partake
Thank you for your daily presence
Thank you for forgiving my sins
I am willing to forgive all others
what they have done to me as I have done to you
So that your name will be glorified in all the earth and heavens
We are your sheep, I am your little lamb.

The Laver

As the sun is setting over the beautiful array of mountains all around me this sabbath evening and the birds are singing their evening song the air is still, I feel the peace of the coming day of rest. And also a need for the cleansing power of Jesus. So I turn to the Words of old and wonder how it all started.

Here is the depiction of the Laver in the Sanctuary where the Israelite priests had to wash their feet from the "Rock flowing with water". They washed to prepare for any service done in the sanctuary before a Living God to avoid any divine retribution.

David even said he washed his hands in innocency so he could come before God. Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord.

Isiah 52:11
Exodus 17:3,6
Psalms 26:6

Think of preparing for the Lord's day, for His second coming, for the service of confession, for the foot washing service, for the burial of water in baptism, and then to eat of His life for us. Yes, indeed, I am a sinner! but forgiven by the grace and and flowing of His water and blood for me. Praise God! Thank you, Amen!

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE

What A Day That Will BeWords

and Music by Jim Hill
Mark 14:62"And Jesus said, I AM:and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."

There is coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky, no more tears to dim the eye.
All is peace forevermore on that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Chorus
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day, glorious day that will be!

Swans, Snow and Geese

On the way to Smithers a field always has a pond in the spring snow runoff. Not as many geese this year but there were a about a dozen swans and here they are sharing the water together with a few other ducks as well. And the bottom pictures shows a fresh snowfall last night.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made" (John 1:1-3, NIV).

Isa 11:7 -
The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Da 2:21 -
And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.

Signs of Spring

Dust on the road, Flicker coming back, melting snow on the river, all signs of spring coming back. Swans and geese keeping company together, bluebirds and woodpeckers too, green grass showing on the lawns and smoke from burning old stubble.
Renew and Revive
Habakkuk 3:2 LORD, I have heard the report about You and I fear, O Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years, In the midst of the years make it knwon; in wrath remember mercy.
18. Yet I will exault in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation
19. The Lord God is my strength

Vision on a mountain

I dreamed upon this mountain
About a temple built not by blood or by man.
There, with a peaceful One who shared my vision
Of a common folk in sparrow's likeness
They left their homes in search of refuge
Travelling to my sanctuary, to find holiness and
Communion that washes, flowing in blessing
From the well that never runs dry.
They Stood in the entry, beheld all that I could give.

Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I

Isaiah 26:4 (New American Standard Bible)"Trust in the LORD forever,For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock."

Psalm 61:2-4 (New American Standard Bible)"From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint;Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.For You have been a refuge for me,A tower of strength against the enemy.Let me dwell in Your tent forever;Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings."

In the presence of my enemies You will spread the table before me! Even though the enemy may be even myself and for the forgiveness I seek, the Father will help me understand and sort the mess out of my life. The picture above is called Table Mountain in Bella Coola and is always visible from our old yard. May your table be spread before you today and you will be inspired thru the reading of His word and inspirations of the songs thru the Spirit He has given people to write. Selah

Calloused Destiny

Calloused sandaled feet
Beneath a leathered dress
They walked among the spit
And dung and rocks and mud
Pausing on the dusty road
To heal a hungry crowd

Casting fishes by the sea
Kneeling down on the soil to pray
And then those feet stood still…
Right in front of me
He washed my tired dusty feet
And his way became my destiny.

The Potter and Clay

My brother in law, Ivan, sent me this page today-He Didn't Throw The Clay Away-which reminds me of my favorite verse in the Bible ~

"Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it." (Jeremiah 18:3-4)

First God told Jeremiah to go to a potter's house. Working with clay, the potters made the pages for newspapers and formal records, mugs, lamp bases, pots, and storage containers of that day. They deftly turned lumps of clay into usable objects. So the potter was a key artisan in ancient villages. They shaped what people wrote on; stored food, water, and wine in; and ate and drank from. Not all potters were equally skilled, but all had a measure of control over the lump of clay in their hands.
With that as a backdrop, read again what God told Jeremiah: "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My words" (Jer. 18:2).
So Jeremiah went to the village potter to see what he was making. There he may have been working on a broken vessel and so he reworked the clay and shaped it into another vessel. Jeremiah says these words to describe that process: "So he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make" (Jer. 18:4).
That description sets the stage for God's words for us and me:

"O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? says the LORD. "Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!" (Jer. 18:6)

Isaiah exclaimed, "But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we are all the work of thy hand" (Isaiah 64:8). In the Hands of the Potter Isaiah explains the process through which we, like lumps of clay, are cleansed, shaped--and sometimes reshaped--before being formed into vessels of honor that bear the imprint of the One who has shaped us.

Clay is very fine particles of dirt which float in a stream or river and then sink to the bottom, where they press on each other and stick together. You generally find clay along the banks of a
river or stream, wherever the river is pulling dirt down off the mountains or hills and dropping it in a quiet part of the river lower down.

Whoever will be first will be last! We all come from the same pile of dirt but God has made us equal!

The Master's Hands

Sunshine and rain, snow and cold
Mountains will stand
Life to life the power is given
Expressions of beauty invitations send
Bouncing cursor tell the story!

What is the point to this
Just a tot, just a tittle
Waived by the wind
Constance is valid
But whim is rule.
Century to century all the same

Our life is a potted plant
Nurtured, fed, trimmed and pruned,
Forgotten, remembered
But always in the care of the
Master’s hands.

Life is so unpredictable but the one thing we do know is that Jesus is always in our presence and to honor that we give our praise! Perfection is within our eyes and hard to live up to. The timing of the Lord is within every growing thing as it blossoms to praise Him.

Three Cups of Tea

is the title of a new book that I bought and the caption is "Here in (Pakistan and Afghanistan), we drink three cups of tea to do business; the first you are a stranger, the second you become a friend, and the third, you join our family, and for our family we are prepared to do anything--even die."
That is such a captivating philosophy, and with it comes the rigors of a life just like the river in this picture and you begin to wonder if it will ever straighten out. ....
There is a river that flows from deep within.
There is a fountain that frees the soul from sin.
Come to these waters, there is a vast supply.
There is a river that never shall run dry.

There came a sound from Heaven, like a mighty rushing wind.
It filled their hearts with singing and gave them peace within.
The Master gave this promise, the Spirit will descend
And from your inner being a river with no end.

There came a thirsty woman, who was drawing from a well.
Her life was ruined and wasted, her soul was bound for Hell.
But then she met the Master, who told of her great sin
And if you’ll drink this water, you’ll never thirst again.

There is a river that flows from God above.
There is a fountain, that’s filled with His great love.
Come to the water, there is a vast supply.
There is a river, that never shall run dry.
In the end, our lives are dependant on the choices we make for the success of our time on earth.

Alter Calls

AND MAY YOU FEED A HUNGRY WORLD THROUGH ME!

what an awesome prayer, one that cries for committment and giving of oneself beyond the point of selfishness.

Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. —Ephesians 4:25

Now, I know you’ve been there too
Taunted in the wind
Rejected, you looked upon the bricks
The cobblestones felt the echo
Of your footsteps.

Now you know I have been there too
Embarrassed then I felt
When along the road I saw you drive by
With dust that stung my face ,
Then I knew I’d seen you before.

Now we meet on common ground
Compassion now we feel
The isle has called us from our dream
Forgive us Lord,
For neighbours we will strive to be.

Hair cuts

In the days of Silver Hills long ago, every morning and noon and night! I walked that steep hill. Today, at home for the first time in 10 years I went for a walk out east at 7:15am. I heard a Robin whistle, chickadees, singing, a schoolbus went by and the driver inside waved, a couple of trucks on their way to whereever, ice still on the roads, and bless it all--fresh air in my lungs. walking up the little hill to my home i felt dizzy with oxygen! and revived with a warm cup of orange juice when I took my coat off and prepared it in my new kitchen.

Ready for the day now.

Jud 9:33 -
And it shall be, as soon as the sun is up in the morning, that you shall rise early and rush upon the city; and when he and the people who are with him come out against you, you may then do to them as you find opportunity."

1Sa 29:10 -
Now therefore, rise early in the morning with your master's servants who have come with you. And as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart."

Job 1:5 -
So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did regularly.

Ps 119:147 - Show Context
I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word.

I tried putting off going for a walk later in the day but it never happened. Rise up early in the morning! Remember the song Midnight Cry. Jesus will come at midnight-early in the morning. at the midnight hour the ten virgins were to be ready. At midnight the Israelites were to be ready to leave in the early morning. We don't know the real time but early risers do get the worm!!! And all the old ladies who wanted haircuts today got them!!!!!

Bread and Water

"Our Lord has said, 'Except ye eat of the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you. . . . For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.' John 6:53-55. This is true of our physical nature. To the death of Christ we owe even this earthly life. The bread we eat is the purchase of His broken body. The water we drink is bought by His spilled blood. Never one, saint or sinner, eats his daily food, but he is nourished by the body and the blood of Christ. The cross of Calvary is stamped on every loaf. It is reflected in every water spring. All this Christ has taught in appointing the emblems of His great sacrifice. The light shining from that Communion service in the upper chamber makes sacred the provisions for our daily life. The family board becomes as the table of the Lord, and every meal a sacrament."—Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 660.

The Great Sculptor

I don't know the name of this mountain, I should after living here for so many years, but look at it, it looks like a crown in the middle of the earth! Someday God wil put his crown of glory on each one of you. You have been faithful to your friends and family, encouraged each other and kept faith with Jesus who died for us all. May the risen Savior bless all today.
Lacy tendrils reach out to catch sunshiny rays hiding in the shadows.

How can you not post something so beautiful for the world to see! The sun has just risen from behind the mountains toward Smithers and burst out in full glory making each little branch glisten with melting beads of hoar frost.
It was so hard to continue on with the old blog after my parents have passed away, memories are too fresh and so here is the start of a new one. Winter is still here and the Great Sculptor is still at work. Rivers of water frozen on the Rock alongside the Bulkley River.

Going on a plane ride!!
